Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Monday lashed out at the PM Modi-led government, for the crises-like situation in the country due to rising fuel prices.
He further said, Modi government has done a lot which is not in the interest of the nation and has now crossed all the limits.
Manmohan Singh while addressing a protest rally at the Ramlila ground said, “the BJP-led central government had failed miserably in controlling fuel prices due to which the situation has gone beyond control. The government has failed in fulfilling the promises made to the people before the 2014 elections.”
Congress president Rahul Gandhi along with various opposition parties kick started the country-wide protest against rising fuel prices from Rajghat as part of the ‘Bharat Bandh’ call given by the party on Monday.
The Nationwide strike by congress and other opposition parties intends to raise voice against ‘price rise’, ‘fall’ of rupee against the dollar and other issues that ‘affect’ the people across the country.
The protest was supported by several opposition parties including the Nationalist Congress Party, Janata Dal-Secular, All India United Democratic Front, Trinamool Congress, Rashtriya Janata Dal, Loktantrik Janata Dal and Rashtriya Lok Dal among others.
