The Mumbai Police on Wednesday filed an FIR against actor Alok Nath on allegations of rape by writer-producer Vinta Nanda.
As per reports, the Oshiwara police has registered an FIR against Alok Nath under section 376 of IPC for rape on the complaint filed by Nanda.
According to Alok Nath’s lawyer, the 62-year-old actor is not in a state to reply to the FIR, citing health issues. His lawyer also stated that the allegations against him are baseless.
In October, Nanda had filed a police complaint a day after Nath filed a civil defamation suit against her seeking a written apology. Nanda had alleged that Nath had raped her 19 years ago.
Alok Nath, accused in several #MeToo accounts, was expelled by the Cine And TV Artistes Association (CINTAA) earlier this month in view of the rape allegations against him.
