National Conference president Farooq Abdullah on Friday called for moral introspection and urged people to return to faith and ethical values, while also demanding a transparent investigation into the alleged NEET paper leak controversy.
Speaking to reporters at Hazratbal Shrine, Abdullah expressed concern over what he described as the erosion of moral values in society.
He said society had drifted away from ethical and spiritual principles and stressed the need for self-correction and renewed adherence to faith and responsibility.
Commenting on the controversy surrounding the NEET examination, Abdullah sought a comprehensive and impartial probe into allegations of paper leakage, saying the issue had shaken public confidence and put the future of students at risk.
He said the matter required serious investigation and accountability, adding that examination-related controversies reported from several states needed impartial scrutiny to safeguard the credibility of competitive examinations.
Addressing the broader political and security situation, Abdullah reiterated that dialogue remained the only practical way to resolve disputes and longstanding challenges.
“Dialogue is the only way to settle problems,” he said.
