Exchange of fire in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kathua, search operation underway

Jammu:  Army troops exchanged fire with suspected terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kathua district early Saturday morning. The incident occurred after an alert sentry post at a temporary Army camp in Batod panchayat detected suspicious movement around 1:20 am.

The sentry fired on the suspects, and the terrorists returned fire, leading to an intermittent exchange of fire that lasted for about half an hour. No casualties were reported on either side, and the three suspected terrorists reportedly fled into a nearby forest.

In response, the Army has initiated a cordon-and-search operation to locate the terrorists. Authorities have stated that further details are awaited.
