An encounter broke out on Tuesday between terrorists and security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
Security forces launched a cordon and search operation in Marwal area following inputs about the presence of terrorists there.
The search operation turned into an encounter after terrorists fired upon security forces, who retaliated.
Chinar Corps, Indian Army in a tweet said, “Op Marwal, Pulwama. Joint operation was launched today early morning based on @JmuKmrPolice inputs. Cordon was laid and contact established. Firefight ensued. Joint operation in progress.”
Kashmir zone police in a tweet said, “#Encounter has started at #Marwal area of #Pulwama. Police and security forces are on the job. Further details shall follow.”
