Ms Maria Mahmood, whose expertise is on alternative education, said that education cannot be imparted merely by copying what on a board. It is equally important to develop awareness and consciousness among children and to teach them how they can acquire skills. Dr Sharnas Muthu (Director, The Women Education and Empowerment Trust) said that financial resources should never become a barrier to education. She cited the example of a family she knows where, after the death of the husband, a woman worked in people’s homes to provide her children with education. From this perspective, the role of women in educating children is extremely important. And empowering those women is essential.

A teacher should have an emotional bond with their students, and it is the teacher’s responsibility to provide students with complete knowledge. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was an exemplary teacher who taught humanity with mercy.
