Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and TDP supremo N. Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday visited the Election Commission (EC) office to complain about the malfunctioning of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) during polling in the state on April 11.
Naidu alleged that 30 to 40 per cent of voting machines in his state were not working properly on Thursday.
He accused the election body of working on the instructions of the government.
“EC is an autonomous body. At the same time, they are working on instructions of PM Narendra Modi and his office,” Naidu told reporters outside the EC headquarters.
“Election Commission has lost its credibility”, Naidu added.
Naidu said the Chief Secretary has also been replaced by a person, who was accused along with YSR Congress chief Jagan Mohan Reddy in a case.
Andhra Pradesh voted in the first phase of the Lok Sabha election for 25 parliamentary seats.
