Domestic flights to resume from May 25 in calibrated manner: Hardeep Singh Puri

Union Minister for Civil Aviation Hardeep Singh Puri on Wednesday said that domestic civil aviation operations will recommence in a calibrated manner from May 25.

All airports and air carriers are being informed to be ready for operations from May 25, Puri said.

The Minister said the standard operating procedures for passenger movement will be separately issued by the ministry of civil aviation.

“Domestic civil aviation operations will recommence in a calibrated manner from Monday 25th May 2020. All airports & air carriers are being informed to be ready for operations from 25th May. SOPs for passenger movement are also being separately issued by @MoCA GoI,” Hardeep Singh Puri tweeted.

The Minister yesterday said the Centre alone cannot decide on resuming domestic flights.

“It is not up to Ministry of Civil Aviation or centre alone to decide on resuming domestic flights. In the spirit of cooperative federalism, the govt of states where these flights will take off & land should be ready to allow civil aviation operations,” Puri tweeted on Tuesday.
