Doctors, police escorting suspected Covid-19 patient attacked in UP’s Moradabad, CM Adityanath orders action under NSA

A team of health workers were attacked in Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, when they went there to take away suspected case of COVID-19 in the area.

The mob pelted stones at the medical team. A police team who came to rescue health workers was also attacked.

Taking cognizance of the incident Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has ordered strict action against the accused. He has asked the police to book those responsible for the act under the stringent National Security Act (NSA).

Any loss to public property will also be recovered from the culprits, Adityanath said.

According to the sources, a COVID-19 patient had allegedly died in the area a few days ago after which the health workers had gone to take primary contacts of coronavirus patient.

Coronavirus cases in Uttar Pradesh has risen to 735 with 11 fatalities.
