Haryana has come out with a unique scheme called ” Samriddhi ” ( Safe Motherhood and Child Health Initiative) to reduce maternal and neonatal mortality rates and provide timely, better health services to pregnant women through modern technology.
The State Government aims to register every pregnant woman in the state on this portal and continuously monitor her health from pregnancy to delivery and postpartum.
The “Samriddhi ” portal , the state-level command center, and the 102 maternal and child health call center will be integrated. This will help provide better health services to pregnant women , timely identify pregnancies at risk, and promptly refer pregnant women to larger hospitals if needed.
Every pregnant woman will be compulsorily registered and given a unique ” Samriddhi ” ID. This will ensure that all health information related to her pregnancy is stored in one place. This system will apply to women receiving treatment at government hospitals as well as private hospitals and medical colleges. Regardless of the hospital a woman attends , her essential health information will be updated on the portal through the ” Samriddhi ” ID. This will ensure that a complete digital record of her pregnancy is available.
Under the ‘ Samriddhi ‘ system, high-risk pregnant women will be identified in a timely manner. ANMs , doctors, and health officials will receive timely information and alerts regarding necessary tests , upcoming deliveries , follow-ups, and other services. High-risk pregnant women will be contacted at regular intervals. Women with normal pregnancies will be contacted every three months , while high-risk women will be monitored more frequently. Contact and monitoring will be increased as the expected delivery date approaches , ensuring prompt assistance in case of an emergency.
According to Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini a “102 Maternal and Child Health Call Center ” will be established at the state level. Trained nurses will provide health advice to pregnant women , identify risks, and assist them in navigating appropriate health centers if needed. If a woman is later identified as having a high-risk condition through the call center , this information will be immediately reported to the Command Center and updated on the ” Samriddhi ” portal.
The Chief Minister stated that timely treatment and referral to the right hospital are crucial for maternal and child health. Through ” Samriddhi , ” improved coordination will be achieved at the district and state levels to ensure high-risk pregnant women reach appropriate healthcare facilities. Women will be informed of appropriate hospitals for delivery based on their health status. The process of referring them to larger healthcare institutions, if necessary, will also be streamlined.
Under the National Health Mission, a six-seat Samriddhi Command Center will operate in two shifts. This center will monitor data , alerts , referrals, and follow-up related to maternal and child health services across the state. Monitoring and coordination of maternal and child health services will also be strengthened at the district level through nursing staff.
The Chief Minister informed that the ” Samriddhi ” portal will be developed according to the standards of the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission and integrated with other health portals. Birth registration will also be linked to the ” Samriddhi ” ID, enabling better monitoring of pregnancy and the child’s health after birth. He stated that the government’s objective is not merely to collect data , but to ” provide the right healthcare at the right time to every pregnant woman . “
The Chief Minister said that the main objective of the ‘ Samriddhi ‘ initiative is to reduce maternal mortality and neonatal mortality in Haryana. Under this, special attention will be given to 100 percent pregnancy registration, active monitoring of high-risk pregnant women, timely referral, institutional delivery, and continuous monitoring of newborns.
