Delhi Traffic Police issues fresh advisory to commuters amid farmers’ protest

As farmers’ protest against the Centre’s farm laws continued for the sixth consecutive day, the Delhi Traffic Police on Tuesday issued a fresh advisory for commuters and asked them to avoid certain routes.

The Delhi Traffic Police in a tweet said that both Singhu and Tikri borders, where farmers are protesting remain closed for any traffic movement.

“Tikri border is closed for any Traffic Movement. Badusarai and Jhatikara Borders are open only for two-wheeler traffic. Available Open Borders to Haryana are following Borders Jharoda, Dhansa, Daurala, Kapashera, Rajokri NH 8, Bijwasan/Bajghera, Palam vihar and Dundahera,” the Delhi Traffic Police said.

“Singhu Border is still closed from both sides. Please take alternate route. Traffic has been diverted from Mukarba Chowk & GTK road. Traffic is very very heavy. Please avoid outer ring road from signature bridge to Rohini &Vice versa, GTK road, NH 44 & Singhu border,” Police added.

The agitating farmers demanding scrapping of new farm laws had refused the Centre’s pleas to move the protest to Burari ground, calling it an open jail.
