Delhi-NCR Gets Respite from Heat as Showers and Dust Storms Hit Several Areas

New Delhi: Residents across parts of Delhi-NCR witnessed a welcome change in weather on Wednesday as rainfall and strong winds brought relief from the intense summer heat. Rain was reported in several areas of the National Capital Region, while cloudy skies covered neighbouring regions including Noida and Faridabad.

According to local reports, weather conditions changed significantly around 2 pm in parts of Sonipat, Faridabad, Delhi, Noida and Ghaziabad. While Noida experienced strong winds and dust storms, heavy rainfall accompanied by dusty winds was reported from parts of Sonipat and Faridabad. The sudden change in weather led to a noticeable drop in temperatures across the region.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast continued chances of rain, thunderstorms and gusty winds across Delhi-NCR over the next couple of days. A yellow alert has been issued for parts of the region, including Noida, Ghaziabad and Gurugram, with authorities advising residents to remain cautious during periods of unstable weather.

Weather experts said the ongoing spell is expected to provide relief from soaring temperatures that had recently crossed seasonal averages. Thunderstorm activity and scattered rainfall have already brought down daytime temperatures in several parts of the National Capital Region.

While the rain was welcomed by many, commuters in some areas reported slower traffic movement due to wet roads, dust storms and reduced visibility. However, no major disruptions were reported.

The IMD has indicated that similar weather conditions may continue for the next few days before temperatures begin rising again. Residents have been advised to monitor official weather updates and take necessary precautions during thunderstorms and strong winds.

With clouds, cooler winds and intermittent showers, the weather has offered much-needed respite to Delhi-NCR residents as the region moves closer to the monsoon season.
