The Bharatiya Janata Party is hoping to secure a majority with possibility of securing 40 seats in the forthcoming Delhi Assembly polls.
Sources stated that an internal survey by the party haa revealed the possibility of winning 40 seats in the upcoming elections.
“Tickets will be given on popularity factor and winnability factor, and not just the survey report. How many people can a candidate bring together and what work has he or she done for the party and society. It all matters when the party chooses its candidate for the polls,” said the source.
According to sources, the party will come up with the candidates list in the mid December, probably after December 15 which will have many new and young faces.
“After December 15 the party might release the candidates list. This time many new faces will be there in the list with 70:30 ratio of men and women respectively,” said a party insider.
The party has recently announced 43 committees with an eye on the polls. The BJP is also holding a signature campaign to make senior citizen of the national capital aware of central government’ Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY).
Meanwhile, Delhi BJP office at Pandit Pant Marg has become a hub of various activities including leaders meeting to discuss the strategy and campaigns for the upcoming assembly polls.
The party workers can be seen entering the office in a hope of getting ticket.
The number of ticket aspirants have been increased and the office witnesses an influx of hopefuls.
The 70-member Delhi Assembly polls are due to be held in February 2025.
In the last Delhi Assembly elections which were held in 2020, in which the BJP won just 8 seats.
