Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Tuesday announced extension of lockdown in the state till May 29.
A decision to this effect was taken at state cabinet meeting.
Speaking to reporters after the cabinet meeting, Rao said that night-time curfew would continue in the entire state.
“Public should complete purchase of essential items by 6 pm and be back home. There will be curfew in the state from 7 pm. If anyone is found outside, police will initiate action,” Rao said.
Rao said he will hold a review meeting on May 15 to discuss further course of action.
Telangana has reported 1,085 COVID-19 cases so far with 29 fatalities.
