With 16,504 fresh cases of the coronavirus and 214 deaths in the past 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 tally stands at 1,03,40,469 while the death toll rose to 1,49,649, according to Health Ministry data.
Of the total cases, 99,46,867 have been cured/discharged. There are 2,43,953 active cases of COVID-19 in India.
The recovery rate among coronavirus patients stands at 96.19%.
Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) said over 17.56 crore samples have been tested up to January 3 of which 7,35,978 samples were tested yesterday.
