New Delhi: Ahead of Independence Day, Chief Justice of India Justice Surya Kant on Thursday hosted a special interaction with persons with disabilities at the Supreme Court premises in the national capital. The gathering brought together achievers from diverse fields, including Paralympians, civil servants, academicians and entrepreneurs.
During the interaction, Justice Surya Kant heard the participants share their personal experiences, including the challenges and barriers they had overcome in their professional journeys. He warmly appreciated their achievements and recognised their determination and contribution to society.
The interaction highlighted the achievements of persons with disabilities who have made a mark across sports, public service, education and entrepreneurship. The CJI commended their resilience and success, stressing through his engagement the importance of recognising their contributions and experiences.
The event was held ahead of India’s 80th Independence Day on August 15, adding an inclusive dimension to the national celebrations.
