Chief Justice of India (CJI) Ranjan Gogoi will on Friday meet top officials of Uttar Pradesh to discuss law and order situation in the state ahead of the Ayodhya verdict.
According to the sources, the Chief Justice has called upon Uttar Pradesh Chief Secretary and the director general of police (DGP) to discuss the arrangements ahead of the landmark verdict.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath held a late-night review meeting with top police and administration officials, the statement said.
The Chief Minister has asked for two helicopters to be on standby in Lucknow and Ayodhya, to tackle any possible emergency.
He also reviewed the law and order situation in each district and gave necessary directions to maintain peace.
The Top Court is expected to deliver its judgement in the decades-old Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid land dispute next week before CJI Gogoi’s retirement. He will retire on November 17.
