Jewar: SAEL Industries Ltd, a vertically integrated renewable energy company, today laid the foundation stone of its Integrated Solar Manufacturing Facility in Jewar, Uttar Pradesh. The project is being developed by its wholly owned subsidiary, SAEL Solar P6 Private Limited. This marks a significant milestone for the company in India’s transition toward clean energy.
The foundation stone ceremony was held in the presence of Hon’ble Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath. The event was also attended by Hon’ble Finance Minister of Uttar Pradesh Shri Suresh Kumar Khanna, Hon’ble Industrial Development Minister Shri Nand Gopal Gupta “Nandi”, MLA of Jewar, Gautam Buddha Nagar Shri Dhirendra Singh, officials from YEIDA and the CEO of Noida International Airport Limited, senior government officials, industry leaders, and members of SAEL’s leadership team.
On this occasion, Mr. Sukhbir Singh, Co-founder and Director of SAEL Industries Ltd, said that the foundation stone ceremony marks an important milestone in the company’s journey. With an initial investment of ₹8,200 crore, the company is establishing a 5 GW solar cell and 5 GW solar module manufacturing unit in Jewar. This is not just an infrastructure investment; it also contributes to India’s energy self-reliance. Uttar Pradesh is among the fastest-growing states in India, moving closer to its goal of becoming a $1 trillion economy. The company expressed gratitude to the Uttar Pradesh government, YEIDA, and all stakeholders for their support.
Mr. Lakshit Awala, CEO and Executive Director of SAEL Industries Ltd, said that the Jewar project reflects the future of renewable energy in India and growing confidence in Uttar Pradesh as a major manufacturing destination. As demand for indigenous solar products increases in the country, this unit will strengthen India’s solar supply chain and bring economic benefits to the region. By producing large-scale solar cells and modules at a single location, the capabilities being developed here will set an example of vertical integration in the solar sector.
The project is being developed over 200 acres in Sector 8 of the Gautam Buddha Nagar district under the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA). It is planned as an integrated 5 GW solar cell and 5 GW solar module manufacturing unit. Once operational, this 10 GW solar manufacturing ecosystem will meet the growing industrial needs of India. It will help Uttar Pradesh attract major investments in the manufacturing sector and highlight the state’s growing role as a clean energy industry hub.
The unit is expected to generate 5,000 direct and 15,000 indirect jobs. It will boost industrial activity, ancillary industries, and infrastructure development, contributing significantly to regional economic growth. Once completed, the facility will enable the production of high-efficiency solar cells and TOPCon modules using advanced technology in India, supporting the rapid expansion of the country’s renewable energy sector.
