The initiative is being conducted in collaboration with the Government of the Union Territory of Ladakh. The academic support classes began on September 14 and will continue until October 14, 2026.

According to CBSE, the classes are being conducted in government schools across several locations, including Leh, Nubra, Shams, Zanskar, Kargil, Drass, Changthang and Sankoo Chiktan, besides other high-altitude areas of the Union Territory.

More than 250 experienced teachers and resource persons from CBSE-affiliated schools across the country have been nominated to conduct the sessions and provide focused academic guidance to students.

Subjects covered

The programme covers key subjects for students appearing for the board examinations.

For Class 10, academic support is being provided in Mathematics and Science.

For Class 12, the programme covers Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Economics.

The sessions are not limited to subject-specific preparation. CBSE said students are also being familiarised with important aspects of the board examinations, including assessment strategies, examination techniques, effective time management and approaches to answering questions.

The objective is to help students strengthen their conceptual understanding while also developing the skills required to approach board examinations more effectively.

Focus on students in remote areas

The programme assumes particular significance because the classes are being conducted across remote and high-altitude locations in Ladakh.

By deploying experienced teachers from CBSE-affiliated schools across the country, the board is providing classroom-based academic support directly to students in government schools in different parts of the Union Territory.

CBSE said the initiative is intended to strengthen conceptual understanding, improve examination preparedness and provide targeted academic guidance in a classroom environment.

The board also expects the intervention to contribute to improved learning outcomes among students of government schools in Ladakh.

The programme comes as Class 10 and 12 students prepare for their board examinations, making focused academic support in subjects such as Mathematics, Science, Physics and Chemistry particularly important.

CBSE said the initiative reflects its continued commitment to extending meaningful academic interventions and supporting students in its affiliated-school network.

The programme will run across Ladakh until October 14, giving participating students a sustained period of classroom-based preparation ahead of their board examinations.
