‘Black Cat’ Commandos Reach Srinagar For Anti-Terror Operations

Union government has dispatched a team of National Security Guards (NSG), also known as ‘Black Cats’, to Srinagar for counter-militancy operations in Jammu and Kashmir.
According to officials, a team of NSG has been stationed in the Kashmir Valley for quite some time and is undergoing training on the outskirts of the city.
The Home Ministry decided to station NSG in Kashmir after increase in number of close encounters where many soldiers died during anti-terror operations in densely populated localities.
The NSG commandos will be a force-multiplier for anti-militancy forces deployed in Jammu and Kashmir.
The commandos have been equipped with the latest weapons.
