BJP president Amit Shah on Thursday announced the seat-sharing formula with its old ally Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) in Punjab ahead of Lok Sabha elections 2019.
Shah said, the SAD-BJP alliance will fight the Lok Sabha polls together and will contest on the same number of seats in Punjab as in the 2014 general elections.
“SAD-BJP alliance will fight the 2019 Lok Sabha elections together. The seats will remain the same as they were in 2014. SAD will contest on 10 seats and the BJP on 3,” Shah tweeted.
He made the announcement after a meeting with SAD president Sukhbir Singh Badal and Punjab unit of BJP.
