BJP national general secretary (organisation) B L Santhosh held one-on-one meetings with ministers and party leaders in Lucknow on Monday to review the work of the organisation, amid rising mumbles within the ruling party over the mishandling of the Covid second wave in Uttar Pradesh.
In his two day visit to Lucknow, Santosh meets several ministers, including CM Yogi Adityanath, seeking their opinion on the functioning of various departments, projects undertaken during Covid, and the issues that remained unresolved.
He was apparently told about the lack of coordination between the BJP and government, as well as the inability of even party leaders to get work done from the bureaucracy.
The BJP is stinging from the negative overall performance in the recent panchayat polls, after the party had itself portrayed them as a semi-final assembly elections next year.
There are rumors in Lucknow about the reshuffle in the state cabinet.
