Lucknow: BJP National President Nitin Nabin began his two-day organisational visit to Uttar Pradesh on Saturday with a grand welcome in Lucknow, where he paid tribute to the city’s rich cultural and political heritage and outlined the party’s focus on strengthening its organisation ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections.
Addressing party workers after arriving in the state capital, Nabin said, “I bow before this sacred land of Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh. This is the land of Lord Ram, the city of Lord Shiv, the city of Lord Krishna. I bow before this land. I also remember Atal Bihari Vajpayee. This is his area. People have warmly welcomed us…I thank them.”
The visit is being seen as a key organisational exercise ahead of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, expected early next year. According to party sources, Nabin will review the BJP’s election preparedness, guide the newly constituted state unit and work on strengthening coordination between the party organisation and the state government.
During his visit, the BJP chief is scheduled to hold an organisational meeting with newly appointed state office-bearers, regional presidents, district presidents and heads of various BJP morchas. He will also review ongoing organisational programmes and discuss the party’s future campaign strategy.
Nabin is expected to meet Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Deputy Chief Ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak, BJP MPs, MLAs and Members of the Legislative Council. Discussions will focus on the implementation of welfare schemes and improving coordination between the government and the party organisation.
He will also chair a meeting of the Uttar Pradesh BJP core committee and later interact with prominent personalities in Lucknow. In the evening, he is scheduled to hold a dinner meeting with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
On the second day of the visit, Nabin will hold a tea interaction with former BJP state presidents, including Vinay Katiyar, to seek their suggestions on the party’s preparations for the Assembly elections.
Before concluding his visit, Nabin will hold separate meetings with Deputy Chief Ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak at their respective residences and later visit the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) office in Lucknow to meet senior Sangh functionaries.
