A non-bailable warrant has been issued against former Social Welfare Minister of Bihar Manju Verma in an Arms Act case.
Manjhaul sub-divisional court issued the warrant against Verma on Wednesday soon after the Supreme Court rapped the Bihar government for not arresting Verma.
Moreover, a hunt has been launched to arrest the former minister, who is currently absconding.
Earlier in August, CBI had conducted raids at 12 locations including Manju Verma’s Patna residence in Begusarai in connection with the shelter home rape case and recovered fifty cartridges.
Manju Verma had resigned as Social Welfare Minister of Bihar in August following the revelations that her husband Chandrakant Verma has alleged links with key accused Brajesh Thakur in the Muzaffarpur shelter home sex scandal case.
44 girls were sexually assaulted at a shelter home, which was run by Brajesh Thakur’s NGO at Bihar’s Muzaffarpur.
