Bihar cabinet minister and senior leader of Janata Dal-United JD(U) Kapil Deo Kamat passed away in the wee hours of Friday due to COVID-19. He was 70-years-old.
Kamat was admitted to Patna’s All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) on October 1 and had been on ventilator support for the last one week.
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar condoled the death of Kamat and said, “The untimely demise of Panchayati Raj Minister Kapil Dev Kamat ji is sad. His death has caused irreparable damage in political and social fields. May his soul rest in peace.”
