Popular Bhajan singer Narendra Chanchal passed away on Friday. He was 80.
Chanchal breathed his last at 12:15 pm at a hospital in New Delhi.
According to the sources, the Bhajan singer was admitted in Delhi’s Apollo Hospital on November 27.
“Extremely sad to hear the demise of bhajan singer Narendra Chanchal. He made a special place in the world of bhajan singers through his vibrant voice. My condolences to his family and fans in this hour of grief. Om Shanti,” PM Modi tweeted.
The Ministry of Culture in its condolence message said, “Extremely saddened to learn the unfortunate demise of Veteran singer Narendra Chanchal known for his religious songs and bhajans. Heartfelt condolences to the departed soul & strength to the family members in this hour of bereavement.”
Cricketer Harbhajan Singh also took to Twitter and said, “Deeply saddened to learn that iconic and most loved #NarendraChanchal ji has left us for the heavenly abode. In prayers for his soul to rest in peace. Heartfelt condolences to his family.”
