Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh has joined the nationwide ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign as the state gears up to celebrate India’s 80th Independence Day. Governor Lt. Gen. K.T. Parnaik (Retd.), Chief Minister Pema Khandu, Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, ministers and senior officials have appealed to citizens to actively participate in the campaign by hoisting the National Flag at their homes from August 9 to 17.
The campaign was officially launched in Itanagar with a Tiranga Yatra, led by Chief Minister Pema Khandu and members of his Cabinet. Similar patriotic rallies, awareness drives and public outreach programmes are being organised across districts to encourage mass participation and strengthen the spirit of nationalism.
State leaders highlighted that this year’s campaign holds added significance as the nation is also commemorating 150 years of ‘Vande Mataram’. Citizens have been urged to proudly display the Tricolour and take part in cultural events, patriotic marches and community programmes being organised throughout the week.
As part of the celebrations, educational institutions, government departments, local bodies and youth organisations are conducting flag distribution drives, Tiranga rallies and awareness campaigns across the state. The initiative aims to deepen public connection with the National Flag and honour the sacrifices of India’s freedom fighters.
The ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign is being observed nationwide from August 9 to 17, encouraging every household to hoist the Tricolour and celebrate the values of unity, patriotism and national pride ahead of Independence Day.
