Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday said that the central government decided to revoke Article 370 of the Constitution, that gave special status to Jammu and Kashmir, as it was not beneficial to the country or Kashmir.
Speaking at the book launch on Vice President M Venkiah Naidu, Shah asserted that removal of Article 370 will lead to end of terrorism and start economic progress and development in the state.
“Article 370 was not beneficial for India or for Kashmir. I was firm that Article 370 should be removed, its abrogation will end terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir, and it will progress on the path of development,” Shah said.
