Army soldier martyred as Pakistan violates ceasefire in J&K’s Nowgam sector

One Army personnel was martyred while two others have sustained injuries in ceasefire violation by Pakistan in Nowgam sector of north Kashmir on Saturday.

Chinar Corps, Indian Army in a tweet said, “Pakistan initiated an unprovoked Ceasefire Violation along LoC in Naugam Sector, Kupwara today morning by firing Mortars & other weapons. Befitting response was given. One soldier laid down his life in the line of duty. Two soldiers injured & evacuated, condition stable.”

Earlier today Pakistan violated ceasefire in Shahpur, Kirni and Degwar sectors of Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district.

Pakistan initiated unprovoked ceasefire violation at around 9.15 a.m by firing small arms and intense shelling of mortars along the Line of Control (LoC).
