Former Union minister Arif Mohammad Khan was on Friday sworn in as the new Governor of Kerala.
Chief Justice of the Kerala High Court Hrishikesh Roy administered the oath of office to Khan at the Raj Bhawan in Thiruvananthapuram.
He took the oath first in Malayalam at the swearing in ceremony.
Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, his Cabinet colleagues, other top officials and family members of the new Governor were present at the function.
Khan replaces P. Sathasivam who completed his five-year tenure as Governor.
