Former Union minister and BJP leader Swami Chinmayanand, who has been accused of sexual exploitation by a law student, was on Monday granted bail by the Allahabad High Court.
Chinmayanand, whose trust runs Shahjahanpur Law College where the student studied, was arrested in September 2019.
The woman was also arrested for allegedly trying to extort money from Chinmayanand . She was released on bail in December last year.
The 23-year-old law student went missing on August 24, a day after she posted a video clip on social media, alleging that ‘Chinmayanand was harassing and threatening to kill her.
After this, the woman’s father lodged a complaint, accusing a senior leader of harassing his daughter.
