After being acquitted in the Jiah Khan case, actor Sooraj Pancholi reacted on Instagram. The actor put up a status. He wrote on his Instagram Stories, “The truth always wins!” and added folded hands and red heart emojis with the hashtag ‘God is Great’.
Almost a decade after actor Jiah Khan’s death by suicide a special CBI court in Mumbai today acquitted her boyfriend Sooraj Pancholi of abetment charges.
Special Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court judge AS Sayyad pronounced- “Due to paucity of evidence, Sooraj Pancholi is acquitted”. Sooraj Pancholi was arrested in the case in June 2013 and released on bail in July 2013.
Reacting to the verdict Jiah’s mother Rabia Khan, a key prosecution witness in the case had said, “her daughter was killed. The charges of abetment to suicide has gone. But how did my child die? This is a case of murder…will approach the high court”.
In this case the judge AS Sayyad last week heard the final argument of both sides and reserved his judgment in the case.
