The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Thursday announced that it had suspended Tahir Hussain after he was charged for his involvement in the murder of an Intelligence Bureau (IB) staffer Ankit Sharma.
The police said the FIR has been registered against Hussain in the killing of Ankit Sharma, on the basis of a complaint filed by Sharma’s father.
Ankit Sharma, who had been missing since Tuesday evening, was recovered from a drain near Jafarabad on Wednesday.
His father Ravinder Sharma, who is also an IB employee, blamed Hussain and his supporters for the death.
The postmortem examination revealed that Sharma was brutally stabbed to death during the violence in northeast Delhi.
On Thursday, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had said, “Any person who is found guilty should be given stringent punishment. If any Aam Aadmi Party person is found guilty then that person should be given double the punishment. There should be no politics on the issue of national security.”
