7-Month-Old Baby Goes Missing from Delhi Hospital, Woman Under Suspicion

New Delhi, 1 June, 2026 : A 7-month-old baby reportedly went missing from Delhi’s Guru Teg Bahadur (GTB) Hospital, prompting a police investigation and a search operation to trace the infant.

According to police, the child’s mother, a 23-year-old resident of Seelampur, had become acquainted with a woman over the past week. The two had been in regular contact, leading the mother to develop a sense of trust in her.

On Saturday, the woman accompanied the mother and her seven-month-old son to GTB Hospital. While the mother went to obtain a medical registration slip, she left the baby in the care of the woman.

However, when she returned a short while later, both the woman and the infant were missing. The mother immediately searched the hospital premises but was unable to locate either of them. She then informed the authorities about the incident.

Police have registered a case and begun examining CCTV footage from the hospital and nearby areas. Investigators are working to identify the woman and establish the sequence of events leading to the child’s disappearance.

Officials said that tracing the infant safely remains their top priority. Multiple teams have been deployed, and all possible leads are being pursued as part of the ongoing investigation.

Authorities have urged anyone with relevant information to come forward and assist in locating the child.
