Four civilians were killed and nine others got injured in the last 24 hours following heavy mortar shelling and gunfire by Pakistani troops at Indian villages along the International Border (IB) in Jammu, Kathua and Samba districts.
The Border Security force has been responding and giving befitting response with strong and effective retaliation.
In R S Pura, Arnia, Bishnah of Jammu district and Ramgarh and Samba sectors gunfire and shelling is going on since last night and is continue till now.
A senior police officer reportedly confirmed that shelling initiated toward Samba district at around 9 AM today morning which claimed lives of 2 civilians and six others were injured in the same.
He further said there was heavy firing of mortar bombs and shelling and firing of small arms and automatic weapons on civilian areas and posts along the IB in Hiranagar sector of Kathua District before dawn also.
In wake of heavy shelling and firing from last several days, over 76,000 people have been reportedly migrated from border areas.
