Finally the results for four Lok Sabha seats and 10 Assembly polls came on May 31. The ruling BJP managed to win two Lok Sabha seat in Palghar in Maharashtra and Nagaland seat and only one assembly seat in Tharali Uttarakhand.
The elections clearly marked the strength of united opposition which stood against BJP. However, the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance received some relief following the win of Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party in Nagaland’s Lok Sabha seat.

- Uttar Pradesh: In Kairana, Tabassum Hasan of the RLD defeated Mriganka Singh of the BJP
- Maharashtra: In Palghar, BJP candidate Rajendra Gavit defeated Shrinivas Wanaga, nominated by the Shiv Sena against their ally
- Maharashtra: In Gondia-Bhandara region, Madhukar Kukde of the NCP defeated Hemant Patel fielded by the BJP
- Nagaland: BJP-led National Democratic Alliance NDPP wins Nagaland
Assembly Seats:
- Bihar: In Jokihat, RJD candidate Shahnawaz Alam won the seat
- Uttar Pradesh: In Noorpur, Samajwadi Party candidate Naeemul Hasan won the assembly seat defeating the BJP
- Kerala: In Chengannur, CPI(M)-led LDF’s Saji Cheriyan won, defeated the Congress as well as the BJP
- Punjab: In Shahkot, Congress candidate Hardev Singh Ladi won defeating the Akali Dal and the AAP
- Uttarakhand: In Tharali, the BJP retained its seat with Munni Devi Shah defeating Congress’ Jeetram
- Jharkhand: In Silli and Gomia, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha retained both both seats
- West Bengal: In Maheshtala, Trinamool Congress’ Dulal Das won the seat
- Meghalaya: In Ampati, Congress candidate Miani D Shira defeated Clement G Momin of the National People’s Party
- Maharashtra: In Palus Kadegaon, Congress candidate Vishwajeet Patangrao Kadam won the seat
- Karnataka: In Rajarajeshwari Nagar, Congress candidate Muniratna defeated BJP candidate
