14 migrants killed in two separate accidents in Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh

Eight migrant workers were killed and more than 50 sustained injuries in a truck collision in Madhya Pradesh’s Guna late last night.

The labourers were travelling in the truck from Maharashtra to their native place in Uttar Pradesh when it collided with a bus. The injured were taken to the hospital for further treatment.

In another tragic incident, a group of six migrant labourers, who were walking from Punjab to their native places in Bihar, were run over by a bus in Uttar Pradesh’s Muzaffarnagar late Wednesday night.

Migrants walking home amid the COVID-19 lockdown have been involved in several accidents across the country in recent days. Last week, 16 migrant workers were killed after a cargo train ran over them while they were sleeping on the tracks in Maharashtra’s Aurangabad.
