Woman dragged out of car, raped; husband held at gunpoint in Gurugram

rape-1516684902In the latest rape horror reported from Haryana, a 22-year-old woman was dragged out of a car and raped as her husband and brother-in-law were held at a gunpoint on January 21 near Business Park Tower in Sector 56 of Gurugram.

The family was returning from a function when they stopped their car in Sector 56 as the woman’s husband had to use the toilet. As the husband was relieving himself, two cars stopped near them and four men came out and started thrashing woman’s husband.

According to reports, when the men spotted the woman inside the car, one of them pulled her out, dragged her to the bushes and raped her while other three of them held her husband and brother-in-law at gunpoint.

The victim’s husband managed to note down the licence plate number of one of the vehicles (HR29Y1160) before they managed to flee the scene after committing the crime.

The accused identified as Deshvir, Dharmender, Pawan and the rapist Sanjeet have been arrested. All of them are residents of Johalka village near Sohna in Gurugram.

“We have registered an FIR under IPC sections 376, 323, 506 and 34 and arrested the accused,” said Manish Sehgal, ACP and chief PRO of Gurugram Police.
