Singapore-bound flight makes emergency landing at Chennai airport, all passengers safe

A Singapore-bound flight made an emergency landing at the Chennai airport in the early hours of Monday after the pilot detected smoke in the aircraft cargo.

“Singapore-bound Scoot Airways flight TR 567 flying from Trichy in Tamil Nadu made an emergency landing at Chennai airport after the pilot detected smoke in the aircraft cargo at around 3:40 am Monday,” an airport official said.

All the 161 passengers and crew members, who were onboard the plane when the incident happened, were disembarked safely. The flight was currently grounded at Chennai airport and is expected to fly back to Singapore on Monday evening.
