Sadhvi Pragya apologises on Godse’s statement in Lok Sabha

BJP MP Pragya Singh on Friday apologized in the Lok Sabha on her statement calling Nathu Ram Godse as a patriot. She also objected to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi calling her a terrorist in a tweet. BJP MP Nishikant Dubey also demanded action against Rahul, saying that calling MP Pragya a terrorist is worse than Gandhi’s assassination. There is a huge uproar in the Lok Sabha on this issue and Congress members are demanding suspension of Sadhvi Pragya.

Sadhvi Pragya apologized in the Lok Sabha, regretting her statement, but at the same time, she also attacked Congress leader Rahul Gandhi without naming him. In the morning, Sadhvi Pragya met BJP Executive President Jagat Prakash Nadda.

Pragya said in her statement that ” if I have hurt anyone with my comments , I apologize by expressing regret. But I also want to say that my statements have been distorted in Parliament and has been misrepresented.”

Sadhvi Pragya said that “I respect Mahatma Gandhi’s service to the country, but I want to remind the House that an honorable member of this House publicly called me a terrorist. No charge has been proved despite the conspiracy hatched by the then government. It is against the law to call me a terrorist until I am proven guilty by the court.”

After this, Lok Sabha again witnessed uproar on the statement of Sadhvi Pragya. Congress leader in the Lok Sabha, Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary, objected to Sadhvi’s statement and said that she did not apologized properly.
