At least 14 kanwariyas were injured in Rajasthan on Thursday, following a clash between Kanwariyas and members of minority community.
The incident happened, when Kanwariyas were passing through a minority community dominated area in Malpura, located in Tonk district of Rajasthan when some miscreants armed with sticks, sharp weapons and stones attacked the religious procession, resulting to a clash between locals and kanwariyas.
According to the officials, an SUV was also torched by the miscreants.
Injured Kanwariyas are currently being treated at a local hospital.
The situation in the Malpura region of Rajasthan is still tense, Internet services have been suspended by the administration, Section 144, which prohibits the gathering of crowds, has been imposed in the area.
Moreover, additional security has been deployed in the area.
