Punjab CM Capt Amarinder Singh exempts senior citizens and ex-servicemen from dope test for issuance and renewal of their arms licenses

Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on August 8 exempted senior citizens and ex-servicemen from the mandatory dope test for issuance and renewal of their arms licenses.

 

The decision was taken in response to the requests made by ex-servicemen and a group of senior citizens.

 

Captain Amarinder agreed after considering their track record and also they were fit cases and can be excused.

 

In the month of July, the Chief Minister decided to make dope test mandatory for all the government employees in the state from the time of their enrolment through every stage of their service.

 

The initiative was taken by the Chief Minister to eliminate the drug menace from Punjab.
