President Kovind and PM Modi greet on the occasion of Durga Ashtami

On the occasion of Durga Ashtami President of India Ram Nath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended their greetings.

According to the Hindu calendar, Shardiya Navratri begins every year in autumn from the Pratipada of Ashwin Shukla Paksha. On the eighth day of Shardiya Navratri which is also known as Ashtami.

The President Ram Nath Kovind greets citizens on the occasion of Durga Ashtami he tweeted, “Greetings and good wishes to fellow citizens in India and abroad on the auspicious occasion of Durga Puja. This is a celebration of the victory of good over evil. May Goddess Durga shower her blessings on us and enrich our lives with joy and prosperity.”

In a series of tweets, the Prime Minister said, “That may the blessings of Maa Durga always remain upon us and may her blessings further the spirit of happiness and well-being in our society.”

Shardiya Navratri symbolizes the victory of religion over unrighteousness and truth over untruth. According to religious beliefs, during these nine days, Mother Durga comes to the earth and the earth is called her maternal uncle. In the joy of his arrival, these days are celebrated with pomp across the country as Durga Utsav.
