Nigerian Foreign Minister Geoffrey Onyeama on Sunday said that he had tested positive for Covid-19.
Onyeama confirmed the news in a tweet and said that he had taken a Covid-19 test because of throat irritation.
He also said that this was his fourth COVID-19 test.
“Did my fourth Covid-19 test yesterday at the first sign of a throat irritation and unfortunately this time it came back positive. That is life! Win some lose some. Heading for isolation in a health facility and praying for the best,” Onyeama tweeted.
Nigeria has so far reported over 36,000 COVID-19 cases with more than 770 fatalities.
