Nation remembers Dr APJ Abdul Kalam on his birth anniversary

The nation paid homage to former President Dr APJ Abdul Kalam on his birth anniversary on Tuesday.

Dr Kalam, known as the ‘Missile Man of India’ for his contributions towards the development of the country’s missile projects.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu and other political dignitaries paid tribute to Abdul Kalam on his birth anniversary.

“India salutes APJ Abdul Kalam on his birth anniversary. Dr Kalam had a vision of Strong and Modern India in the 21st Century and strived his entire life to achieve it.” Modi said.

“His exemplary life is an inspiration to every Indian” Modi added.

Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu said, “I join the nation in remembering former President of India, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam on his birth anniversary today. Known as missile man of India, Dr Kalam made innumerable contributions to Indian defence. Dr Kalam was a great scholar, teacher who earned love and respect from everywhere.”

“Dr Kalam was a great scholar, teacher and earned love and respect from everywhere,” Naidu said.

“His commitment, his patriotism and his vision to make India a strong nation will continue to inspire us. The best way to pay tribute to him would be by encouraging the young people and children to dream high, aim high and work hard,” Naidu added.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also remembered former President and asserted that he continues to live on in the hearts and the minds of the people of the country.

“Remembering former President of India and a phenomenal scientist, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam on his birth anniversary. He was a people’s president who would continue to live in the hearts and minds of the people of India. I bow to him on his Jayanti,” Rajnath said in a tweet.
