Mumbai’s Taj Hotel receives bomb threat call from Pakistan, security tightened

Security has been tightened around the iconic Hotel Taj Mahal Palace after it received a threat call from Pakistan to blow it up, sources said on Tuesday.

According to officials, the call was made from Pakistan at around 12.30 am and the caller threatened to blow up the hotel with bombs.

The caller identified himself as a member of the Lashkar-e-Taiba and said that the hotel would be attacked, sources said.

Mumbai police have beefed up the security outside Taj Hotel and nearby areas.

In 2008, Taj Hotel had become the victim of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack which killed 166 people and over 300 injured.
