The students in Madhya Pradesh schools will now have to answer their roll call with ‘Jai Hind’.

As per the circular issued by the BJP government in Madhya Pradesh on May 15, it is now compulsory for the school children to say Jai Hind while answering their roll call.

The Madhya Pradesh School Education Department has directed all the schools across the state to ensure that instead of ‘yes sir’ or ‘yes ma’am’, the students must answer the roll call with Jai Hind.

“It has now been made compulsory for all 1.22 lakh government schools in state to answer attendance roll calls by saying Jai Hind instead of yes sir/ma’am. This is the decision taken by state government to instil patriotism among students,” reads the order signed by deputy secretary school education Pramod Singh.

Though the order does not mention private schools but the school education minister Vijay Shah had earlier said that an advisory will be issued to all the private schools in the state.

After getting permission from the chief minister on May 14, the school education department passed the order May 15.
