MJ Akbar defamation case: Delhi court grants bail to journalist Priya Ramani

Delhi’s Patiala House Court on Monday granted bail to journalist Priya Ramani in the defamation case filed by former Union Minister MJ Akbar over the #MeToo allegations against him.

Ramani was granted bail on a personal bail bond of Rs 10,000. The court has scheduled the next hearing in the matter on March 8.

Addressing the media persons post-hearing, Ramani said that the truth is in her defence.

Ramani was the first woman to accuse Akbar of sexual harassment during the #MeToo movement. After that multiple women came out with accounts of alleged sexual harassment by Akbar when he was a journalist.
