Manohar Lal Khattar to be sworn in as Haryana CM today, Dushyant named his Deputy

Manohar Lal Khattar will take oath as the chief minister of Haryana for his second term on Sunday afternoon, with Jannayak Janata Party (JJP)’s Dushyant Chautala set to be his deputy.

The oath-taking ceremony will be held at the Haryana Raj Bhawan on Sunday afternoon.

“With the blessings of all the people of Haryana, on the auspicious occasion of Diwali, I will take oath as Chief Minister of the state at Haryana Raj Bhawan at 2:30 pm,” Khattar had said.

Manohar Lal Khattar and JJP chief Dushyant Chautala on Saturday met Governor Satyadev Narayan Arya and formally staked claim to form the BJP-JJP government in Haryana.

Before meeting the Governor, the incumbent Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar was unanimously elected as the leader of the BJP Legislature Party.

According to the sources, Dushyant’s father Ajay Chautala, who is lodged in Tihar Jail got a two-week furlough on Saturday. He is expected to attend the oath-taking ceremony on Sunday afternoon.

Haryana’s BJP, which emerged as the largest party with 40 seats in the 90-member Assembly, fell six short of the halfway mark needed to form the next government.

The Congress won 31 seats, Jannayak Janata Party (JJP) 10 and others registered 9.
