Delhi’s deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia on Friday called for the strict action against the officer who was arrested in an alleged bribery case.
Manish Sisodia in a tweet said, “I have come to know that the CBI has arrested a GST inspector for taking bribe. This officer was also posted in my office as OSD. The CBI should immediately punish him severely. I have caught many such corrupt officials in the last 5 years.”
The CBI on Thursday arrested a Delhi government officer Gopal Krishna Madhav, said to be the Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, in an alleged bribery case.
Madhav was arrested in a late-night operation on Thursday for allegedly receiving a bribe of over Rs 2 lakh in a matter related to GST, officials had said.
Madhav was taken to the CBI’s headquarters for questioning, officials added.
The arrest of the officer came just two days before the Delhi assembly elections.
